DOMINIQUE
WRITER. DIRECTOR. FOUNDER.
Dominique DeLeon was born in Washington, DC to a mother with a melodious singing voice and who’s most prized possessions were a bright orange Toyota Celica and a well-worn copy of Purple Rain. His father preferred a silver Pontiac Grand Am and Donald Byrd records. He started writing at the age of eight and directed his first film at the age of 13. It was a silent dramatic interpretation of Jane Eyre starring two classmates.
But none of that is especially important.
What is important is that ever since he was an infant Dom’s had this urgent need to create things, and he’s exercised it all over anything he can get his hands on. This has served him well, and led him to found Special Boy Films with the simple commandment: make great stories. The world needs more of them, and less of the bad.
That’s all for now. If you’d like to know more, I’m sorry, but you’re going to have to contact him.

Hi Dominique,
My name is Lisa Urban and I teach 4th grade in Cass Lake, MN. One of my students is the young lady that played a part in your film “Rez”, Avery Matthews. She has been sharing with us her experience on the movie and we were just wondering when it would be available to watch and how it will be available. Also, would it be appropriate to show to a 4th grade class? Thanks so much. Lisa Urban lurban@clbs.k12.mn.us
